First Time as a Teaching Assistant
Today marked a new experience for me as I assisted my cooperating teacher
by helping to supervise an exam. It was exciting yet challenging to observe the
exam process in class. After finishing the proctoring duties, I met with my
cooperating teacher to discuss the lesson plan I had created. He kindly
provided me with constructive feedback and suggestions on areas for
improvement, which proved invaluable in refining my lesson plan to make it more
engaging and understandable for students.
Exploring Baguio on a City Tour
Today was a day I had eagerly awaited our City Tour! Together with my
mentor and cooperating teachers, I set off to explore some of the iconic sights
in Baguio. Our first stop was Stone Kingdom. Although this was my second time
visiting, it was just as captivating as my first visit. I even had an
unforgettable moment when I reenacted a famous line from a local movie,
shouting, “Pinatawag ko kayong lahat, walang himala!” My voice echoed across
the stone walls, making it a truly memorable experience.
We then moved on to a museum filled with sculptures and artworks that
showcased Filipino culture. It was fascinating to learn about the rich local
heritage. The tour ended at Mines View Park, where the breathtaking views of
Baguio's natural beauty left us all in awe. The city tour was an amazing
opportunity to discover more about this beautiful city and its culture.
Morning Right with SLU Students
This morning, I joined SLU students in supervising the Morning Right
ceremony, a daily ritual observed before classes begin. The event started with
the teacher's address, followed by a group prayer, singing of the Philippine
national anthem, and finally, a collective dance session. I joined the students
in dancing and felt immersed in their energetic spirit. After school, I stopped
by Jollibee with a friend to grab dinner, wrapping up the day with a taste of
local flavors.
Practicing for the Send-Off Performance
Today began with supervising the Morning Right ceremony once again.
Afterward, my friends and I made the most of our free time by practicing for
our upcoming send-off performance. We rehearsed every move to perfect the dance
that would represent our culture. This practice not only strengthened our
teamwork but also deepened my appreciation for the Sulawesi Tenggara culture we
would soon present.Performing at the Send-Off: Sulawesi Tenggara Dance
Today was a significant day as my friends and I performed at the send-off
event for exchange students. We wore traditional costumes from Sulawesi
Tenggara and proudly presented the Sulawesi Tenggara Dance. This performance
was a fusion of four ethnic dances: Balumpa, Linda, Lumensi, and Moronene,
symbolizing unity among the diverse cultures of Sulawesi Tenggara. The applause
and warm reception from the audience filled us with pride, making this moment
an unforgettable highlight of my journey.A Heartfelt Farewell with Friends from Vietnam
Today was bittersweet, as it was the last day my friends from Vietnam
would be in the Philippines. They were scheduled to return to Vietnam on Sunday
morning. We decided to make the most of our remaining time by visiting the
Night Market, where we laughed, shopped, and enjoyed each other's company. The
market was lively and full of colors, and we made every moment count. Although
saying goodbye is hard, I know the friendships we built will always be a
treasured part of this journey.Weekend Adventure at Session Road and Burnham Park
Weekends always give me the chance to further explore Session Road, which
once again was celebrating Korean culture. I wandered through the vibrant
displays, took photos with Korean participants, and enjoyed the festive
atmosphere. After Session Road, I headed to Burnham Park to take in the beauty
of the Orchid Garden and to go for a peaceful boat ride, rowing along the
scenic lake. This relaxing experience gave me a moment to reflect on the week’s
activities and enjoy Baguio’s natural beauty.
